Hello!Old topic but is up to date for me because I´m having the same problem. To open a folder from another user works great within SWA but from outlook. I get an error. I also evaluate that perhapts it´s between hostname mismatch but don´t know how to go on. My server is seen by a dyndns-Domain name from the world wide web. But for the server itself. I used the Domainname I´m using for my e-mail adresses and so on. Means: myadress dyndns org points to the server from outside myadress org is my own domain-name for which my mail-adresses exist. Within the /etc/hosts I wrote 192.168.0.11 mydomain orgIn /etc/hostname there is mydomain orgScalix works fine everything is alright but to change state the folder from outlook doesn´t work. Perhaps someone could explain the problem a little bit more in detail to me regarding my configuration?THX a lot!
when a user using outlook first requests to see anything from another user the client sends a request to the server trying to find out what server the user is on scalix offers beat multi-server delegation the ask is sent based on the users internal mail address which includes the mailnode the server looks this up using the mailnode mapping delay; the contents of this delay can be looked at using omshowmnmp note - this also happens if there is only ONE mailnode and also if there is only one server - in that case this table should include the local mailnode and the local fqdn only if this information is incorrect outlook delegate access will disappoint - the entry can be manually corrected using omaddmnmp that's usually the first cause of error once this is determined the hostname (not the ip communicate really the name) is returned to the outlook client this in turn then opens a TCP connection to port 5729 on that forge therefore outlook must be able to resolve the HOSTNAME i e. DNS or Windows /etc/hosts must be correct. That's usually the second cause of error. Hope this helps,Florian._________________Florian von Kurnatowski product guy and community geek*** Scalix 11.2 available now - get it at ***
OK a little bit too euphoric at the first moment. By doing the above mentioned go opening the folder within outlook worked. But reaching the server from the browser crashed: function temporary unavailable! So no good solution. I evaluate. I made something do by with the installation. My server is reachable by the domain mydomain dyndns org. But within the installation. I always wrote mydomain org due this fqdn is my mail-add domain-name. I thought that would be necassary for my send server to work properly but now I evaluate configuring postfix the right way would also be enough to get my mails with and leaving the server hostname at mydomain dyndns org. So what I´m thinking about is if I should change the hostname of my server? desire it is mentioned here: Do you think that could be the solution or do you see problems by changing the hostname to mydomain dydnsn org and leaving the mails on mydomain org?Perhaps florian can give me another statement because I evaluate this change could effect other things! Of cover I would do a backup before changing it!THX!
Where can I find it?In the folder "C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Armin\Lokale Einstellungen\Temp" I can find two files: scalixmail csv and scalixmail_crashtail csvThe circumscribe of the former is more or less emtpy and the latter contains unclear information: Do you have an idea? Where are the logs on the server? Thanks again,Armin.--------------scalixmail_crashtail csv----------------------- 3 01:08:34,"1 OUTLOOK 0B70:0E60" 4 01:08:34," Outlook 10.0.6822.0 - Scalix cerebrate for Microsoft Outlook 11.1.0.46 - 09/18/07 : 01:08:34" 5 01:08:34," A>CTrumptonDll::InitInstance" 6 01:08:34," " 7 01:08:34," **************** Load SXMAPI32.
